Marion E. McNamee, 95, of Clearfield and a resident of Mountain Laurel Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, died Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Penn Highlands Clearfield.
She was born June 13, 1918 in Albany, NY, a daughter of the late David and Doris (Brockley) Camp.
Mrs. McNamee was a homemaker and also had been employed at McGregor Sportswear and The Progress newspaper. She enjoyed any kind of games, whether it was playing bingo or cards or watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.
She also was accomplished at knitting, sewing and crocheting. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield, where she was a member of the Rosary and Altar Society.
She is survived by six children, Patricia Kirsch and her husband, Darrell of Falls Creek, Sharon Adcock and her husband, Michael, Maureen McNamee and Colleen Yeager and her husband, Edward, all of Clearfield, William McNamee of Ludington, Mich., and Michael McNamee of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William T. McNamee, on July 28, 1973 and whom she entered into the sacrament of holy matrimony on Oct. 9, 1943. She was also preceded in death by three grandchildren, Bruce Patrick Graham, Bridget Ann Kirsch and Brooke Erin Yeager.
A Mass of Christian burial will be said at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield, with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee Jr. as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.
There will be no public visitation.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Mountain Laurel Nursing & Rehabilitation Center Activities Department, c/o Lois Kephart, 700 Leonard St., Clearfield.
