Helmbold & Stewart Makes Fire Safety a Primary Concern

Clearfield--With rising fuel costs, more families will be looking for less costly ways to heat their homes this winter. The danger of home fires and carbon monoxide accidents become a higher risk when additional heat sources are used, such as wood stoves, kerosene heaters, gas heaters, electric space heaters and more. Proper installation and use of any heat source is critical to the safety of adults and children.

In an effort to promote fire safety awareness, Helmbold & Stewart Insurance has compiled a “Home Heating Safety Booklet” containing safety tips, guidelines and more. The booklets are free. In addition, H&S has purchased 150 Kidde, 10-year lithium battery-powered smoke alarms for distribution. You can become eligible to receive a free smoke alarm and qualify for the January drawing of a $200.00 Visa gift card to help with your heating bills. For more information visit:  www.hsinsurance.net.

During October, Fire Safety Month, H&S distributed over 2,200 Fire Safety Edu-cation packets to the teachers of K – 3 classes at the Clearfield, Curwensville, DuBois and Harmony schools and co-sponsored Fire Safety Sunday for children at the Clearfield Driving Park.

A home fire is a tragedy no one should have to suffer but, if it happens, you want to be sure your home is insured properly. Your insurance agent will review your policy with you and help you understand how your policy protects you from financial loss.
