Hong Kong (AHN) - Asian stocks rose throughout the region on Wednesday for the first time in three days.
The Shanghai Composite Index added a fourth day of gains, advancing 14 points, or 0.5 percent, to 3,128.54 and India' Sensex added 507 points to end a six-session decline. It rose 3.3 percent to 15,912.13.
The Taiex in Taipei was up 2 percent to 7,467.04.
In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng Index rose 375 points, or 1.8 percent, to 21,614.77.
The Kospi in Seoul added 1.4 percent, advancing for the first time in a week.
In Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 Stock Average edged up 41 points, or 0.4 percent, to 9,844.31.
The S&P/ASX 200 added 8.6 points, or 0.2 percent, to 4,540.10 in Canberra. In New Zealand, the NZX 50 was up 0.2 percent, while in Singapore the Straits Times Index rose 1 percent. Philippines' shares were flat.
The MSCI Asia Pacific Index fell 0.7 points, or 0.6 percent, to end at 114.28. The index has declined 4.8 percent since attaining the year's high on Oct. 30.
