Phoenix, AZ (CNS) - Rapper DMX has been apprehended for speeding. The "Exit Wounds" star was arrested Tuesday after a neighborhood traffic cam caught him driving recklessly more than three months ago.
Earl Simmons, the 37-year-old artist's real name, was caught on film speeding on January 21 around 8:30 p.m. His yellow 1966 Chevy Nova was going between 100 and 114 miles per hour.
He was booked on suspicion of criminal speeding, public endangerment, reckless driving and driving on a suspended license.
Director of the Arizona Department of Public Safety Roger Vanderpool insisted that the rapper wasn't arrested because of his history with the law.
He said, "Mr. Simmons wasn't signaled out because of his notoriety; we have made several arrests in the last few months of those people who flagrantly violate the speed limit and therefore endanger the lives of everyone else on the road."
DMX's attorney had no comments regarding the charges.
