London, England (CNS) - British singer Amy Winehouse left an East London police station around 10:30 Wednesday night, after being held for about eight hours. The singer, who has a troubled past with drugs, went into the police station around 1 p.m.
According to People.com, a Scotland Yard spokesman said the singer had been bailed out and asked to return at a date in May. He did not give a date but did say it was pending further police inquiries.
Winehouse walked into the police station on her own accord. The 24-year-old was there to answer questions about a video police had obtained which allegedly showed her taking narcotics. In January, Britain's Sun newspaper ran photos of Winehouse smoking. The tabloid claimed it was a crack pipe.
Winehouse entered rehab shortly after the pictures were taken.
