Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O'Neal's troubled son, Redmond O'Neal, has been arrested again for drug possession. The 24-year-old was busted on Sunday morning after the L.A. Sheriff did a routine check at a jail.
Redmond was driving a friend to visit an inmate at the Pitchess Detention Center South when they were stopped around 9:30 a.m. on Sunday at a routine security checkpoint.
Prior to the search, he admitted that he was carrying drugs and was taken into custody for possession of a controlled substance and bringing narcotics into a secured jail facility. Although he wasn't caught passing drugs into any prisoners, he was still charged as so because the parking lot is considered part of the jail.
Redmond is currently serving probation for his DUI and drug possession conviction last year. He is also facing another drug charge that involved his father in September.
His bail has been set at $25,000. The court hearing for his latest arrest is set on April 7.
Redmond's arrest comes after news that his mother has been hospitalized since Thursday. The 62-year-old "Charlie's Angeles" star is currently in an unidentified hospital. Her spokesperson has not yet commented on her condition.
Fawcett was originally diagnosed with anal cancer in September 2006. She was declared cancer-free four months later, only to have the dreadful disease return in May 2007.
