Washington, DC (CNS) - Republican actor Jon Voight has some strong words for U.S. President Obama. The Academy Award winner calls the American leader a "false prophet" at a GOP fundraiser in Washington on Monday.
The estranged father of Angelina Jolie was the master of ceremonies at the Republican Party event. He immediately set the tone and delivered a warning to the audience, asking his fellow Republicans to "free this nation from this Obama oppression."
He said, "Obama as a candidate portrayed himself as a moderate but turned out to be wildly radical."
"Everything Obama has recommended has turned out to be disastrous."
He also blamed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, George Soros and Connecticut Senator Chris Dodd and "their ilk for the downfall of the country," and praised Bill O'Reilly, Rush Limbaugh, and Michelle Malkin among others for trying to defeat Obama.
Though seemingly full of venom, Voight's words were not very surprising. He openly endorsed John McCain's 2008 presidential bid and criticized Obama in an Op-Ed article in the Washington Times.
