Woman Who Attacked Leonardo DiCaprio In 2005 Finally Caught In Canada

Shannon Moore - Celebrity News Service Reporter

Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - Leonardo DiCaprio was at a Hollywood party in 2005 when an ex-girlfriend of a friend attacked the star. Aretha Wilson allegedly became upset after DiCaprio walked away from her and threw a glass and hit the actor in the head and neck.

The vicious attack took place at a party thrown by producer Rick Salomon and caused the star to need 17 stitches, 10 in his ear and another 7 to his neck. Police issued a warrant for Wilson one month later for assault with a deadly weapon.

She avoided being caught for years, but after she was found guilty of assaulting ex-boyfriend Wyatt Cote, police discovered the warrant. She was given a suspended sentence and two years probation for the assault.

Wilson was arrested in Canada on Monday and is now awaiting extradition to the United States.
