New York, NY (CNS) - Rihanna may be fined for inking without license. The "Umbrella" hitmaker could be slapped with misdemeanor for giving tattoos without a license in New York.
The 21-year-old Barbadian beauty was spotted and photographed giving three of East Side Ink's tattoo artists tattoos of umbrellas and the letter R.
However, it was learned that giving tattoos without a license means Rihanna might face fine for three misdemeanors for the offense: as much as $300 for the first offense, $500 for the second, and $1,000 for the third.
The tattoo shop could also face fines of its own for allowing for her to ink should NYC Law Department decides to investigate on the matter.
The NYC Health Department released a statement to TMZ, saying, "Only licensed tattoo artists can administer tattoos in the city according to the City's Health Code. We are sending someone down to follow up on this."
