Mercury's Taurasi Cited For Alleged DUI In Early Thursday Incident

AHN Sports Staff

Phoenix, AZ (AHN) - Phoenix Mercury star Diana Taurasi was reportedly cited for driving under the influence in Phoenix early Thursday morning.

According to police, the three-time WNBA All-Star guard, who was driving her black SUV, was pulled over at 2:30 a.m. in the area of Seventh Avenue and Camelback Road.

She was cited for alleged speeding and lane violations, local media outlets reported.

The reported odor of alcohol prompted the police officers to conduct a series of field sobriety tests.

After refusing to undergo a breath test, officers drew her blood in a Phoenix Police Mobile DUI van.

Taurasi was cited and released afterwards

Taurasi is the Mercury's leading scorer, averaging 21 points a game.
