Philadelphia, PA (AHN) - The Philadelphia Eages have begun contract extension negotiations with head coach Andy Reid according to ESPN.com.
Reid's agent, Bob LaMonte, spoke about Reid's desire to remain in Philadelphia, but declined comment on negotiations.
"Andy [Reid] and Jeff [Lurie, the Eagles olwner] and Joe [Banner, the team president] have a very close relationship and they want that to continue," said LaMonte.
"He's told me he loves Philadelphia and wants to stay," LaMonte added.
Reid is in his 11th season and his contract expires at the end of next season.
He's also the teams executive vice president of football operations. He has held that post since the 2001 season.
Reid led the Eagles to five NFC championship games including four straight trips between the 2001-2004 seasons.
Reid and the Eagles made it to the Super Bowl during the 2004 season and lost to the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XXXIX.
Reid is 99-63-1 throughout his NFL head coaching career.
He goes for his100th victory Sunday when the Eagles host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Lincoln Financial Field.
