H1N1 Virus Hits Boston Bruins Center Krejci

AHN Sports Staff

Boston, MA (AHN) - The Boston Bruins will aim to break from a losing slump Thursday without center David Krejci, who has been diagnosed with the H1N1 flu virus.

According to an announcement by Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli's Thursday, the club's medical staff confirmed the diagnosis on Krejci, who will be quarantined until he is symptom-free.

Krejci reportedly started feeling ill following Tuesday's clash against the Red Wings.

He registered 18: 07 of ice time during that contest.

As a result, the Bruins summoned right wing Mikko Lehtonen from AHL Providence on an emergency basis for Wednesday's clash against Montreal.

Lehtonen is expected to boost the offense of the struggling Bruins (6-7-1), who are coming off back-to-back shutout losses.

This season, Lehtonen has recorded 3 goals, 7 assists in 11 games for Providence Bruins.

He was last called up for a one-game appearance in Buffalo in April that resulted in a 6-1 setback for the Bruins.
