Clinton's Lead Over McCain Dwindles; Both Democrats Match Up Evenly

Kris Alingod - AHN News Writer

Washington, D.C. (AHN) - A new general election match-up in Texas shows Sens. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) and Barack Obama (D-IL) faring equally poorly against Sen. John McCain (R-AZ).

Research 2000 said on Friday that only 38% of Texas voters chose Clinton in a contest with McCain. The Republican got 53%. Similarly, only 39% supported Obama in a match-up against McCain while the Republican got 52%.

The survey was conducted on May 5-7 among 600 likely voters in the Lone Star State. Its sampling error is 4%.
