Raped 10-Year-Old Gives Birth

Rexburg, ID (AHN) -- A 10-year-old girl is reportedly in good condition after giving birth to a six pound baby girl last month after being raped by a 37-year-old man when she was only 9 years old.

According to a report by a CBS affiliate, she was impregnated when she was nine. The suspect, Guadalupe Guiterrez-Jaurez, is thought to be an illegal alien and is behind bars awaiting a hearing.

USA Today reported that the girl's pregnancy was reported by medical workers when she went for a doctor's visit.

In January another 10-year-old girl gave birth in Cincinnati after being raped by her mother's boyfriend.

Judges must now decide where to place custody of the girl and her child.

Guiterrez-Juarez faces possible life imprisonment, a $50,000 fine, and deportation if convicted.
