U.S. Offers Its Sympathy To Indian Bombing Victims

Matthew Borghese - AHN Editor

Washington, D.C. (AHN) - The United States spoke out Tuesday against a series of near-simultaneous bombings in India.

State Department spokesman Sean McCormack expressed Washington's empathy for the victims, adding that India remains a strong ally in America's global war on terror.

"The United States condemns the terrorist attacks in Jaipur that have killed and injured many innocent civilians," McCormack said. "Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families, and we express our deepest sympathies to the government and the people of India."

"There is no justification for the murder of innocent people. The United States stands with the government and people of India in their ongoing fight to eliminate the scourge of terrorism, and to ensure an open, democratic, peaceful, and prosperous society," McCormack added.
