New Delhi, India (AHN) - The India's government declared a nationwide alert Tuesday following serial bomb blasts in Jaipur that killed two dozen and injured scores.
"The Home Ministry is keeping a close watch on the situation in the Pink City," a senior official of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) told the Press Trust of India (PTI), adding that that an alert has been sounded in all states.
At least 30 people were killed and more than 100 wounded in a spate of bombings in the western city popular with tourists.
Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan state, a region dotted with palaces and ancient cities that draw hundreds of thousands of tourists every year.
Senior officials of the Home Ministry, including Home Secretary Madhukar Gupta, immediately got in touch with the state government and asked them to beef up security arrangements.
