DASD Approves Hiring Through Online Clearinghouse

DUBOIS - For the rest of this school year and the next employment applications will now be accepted by the DuBois School District through the Internet through Pennsylvania Educators' Clearinghouse, PA-educator.net.

The clearinghouse program works by allowing aspiring applicants to fill out an application online. Benefits of this system are claimed to be saving time, money and ease of use. The length of time to fill out a standard application is about an hour. The clearinghouse allows applicants to search the database of over 190 school districts and intermediate units and those same organizations to search all available applications on such parameters as certification, grade point average, degree level and others.

In approving the use of the service the district has agreed to pay $900 for the service for the remainder of the current year and $2,700 for the 2008-2009 year. The district will be presented with the bill for following years on an annual basis.
