Ridgway PSP Reports Fatal Accident

HORTON TOWNSHIP – The Ridgway State Police reported a fatal accident at 11 a.m. Saturday on state Route 219 at McLaughlin Road in Horton Township.

Jacqueline M. Ethgott, 40, of Brockway, was pronounced dead at the scene by Elk County Coroner, Lou Radkowski.

According to the repot, Ethgott was traveling north on SR 219, while Michael A. Altemus, 30, of DuBois, was traveling south. The accident occurred as Ethgott negotiated a left turn (west) onto McLaughlin Road and into the path of Altemus’ vehicle. The front, right portion of Ethgott’s vehicle was struck by the front of Altemus’ vehicle.

The Horton Volunteer Fire Department assisted police at the scene.
