LOCAL NEWS:
April 9th, 2008 PA Wilds Regional Visitor Guide Debuts
CLEARFIELD - Answers to the age-old question, “What’s there to do?” abound in the new Pennsylvania Wilds Regional Visitors Guide. Just released by the Pennsylvania Wilds Tourism Marketing Corporation, the full-color guide is filled with spectacular attraction information, trip suggestions, and lots of “must sees” for those traveling in the 12-county region.
Being able to preview the wealth of activities and attractions makes trip planning easy - whether you live in the region and are looking for great family day trip suggestions or are coming from across the continent and want two-weeks worth of action and excitement. Jam-packed with vivid color photos, the guide helps travelers get a glimpse of what’s in store for them when they visit the Pennsylvania Wilds. The guide snapshots several communities such as historic Wellsboro; Lock Haven on the West Branch Susquehanna; and Williamsport, home of the Little league World Series. Attractions such as Denny’s famous “Big Burger,” Woolrich, and the Dark Skies at Cherry Springs are included, as are signature events for each part of the region.
Several Clearfield County destinations and attractions are featured in the Regional Visitor Guide. Visitors can learn about the West Branch Susquehanna River, see McGees Mills Covered Bridge, learn about the Coalport Coal Museum and other significant local treasures.
The Pennsylvania Wilds Visitor Guide is the centerpiece of promotional materials produced by the PAWTMC. The Pennsylvania Wilds Fishing Guide and Outdoor Discovery Map are two important companion pieces for visitors. A driving tour guide and Byway brochure are planned for the near future.
The Pennsylvania Wilds region includes Cameron, Clarion, Clearfield, Clinton, Elk, Forest, Jefferson, Lycoming McKean, Potter, Tioga, and Warren counties. To receive your copy of the Pennsylvania Wilds Regional Visitor Guide, the Pennsylvania Wilds Fishing Guide, Outdoor Discovery Map, or more information about the region, contact the Clearfield County Recreation and Tourism Authority at 814-765-5734 or email info@visitclearfieldcounty.org.
