Curwensville Residents Without Power Thursday

CURWENSVILLE - About 1,450 Penelec customers in Curwensville experienced a power outage Thursday afternoon.

According to Penelec Area Manager John Shimko, around 3:20 p.m. an insulator located in the Curwensville substation failed causing the interruption on one phase of the three circuits fed out of the substation. Approximately 450 customers were initially affected with additional customers experiencing partial power.

The remaining 1000 customers were interrupted for approximately 45 minutes at 5:15 p.m. while Penelec made temporary repairs. All customers were restored at 6:00 p.m.
