CASD Seeks Public's Input in Superintendent Search

CLEARFIELD - The Clearfield Board of School Directors is beginning a search for a new superintendent of schools. They are asking for the public's assistance in helping them identify the needs facing the school district and establish the qualifications needed by a new superintendent.

The request reads:

"Your ideas and suggestions will be considered by the board in the development of a profile of characteristics and qualifications against which to evaluate candidates.

"Please take a few minutes to share your thoughts with us about this important position. Please fill out the form on the reverse side of this letter and return it to us at the address indicated. In submitting your response, you need not sign your name.

"Please return your response no later than Monday, July 7, 2008"

The request is signed by R. Denning Gearhart, president of the Clearfield Area Board of School Directors.
 
Those within the school district are asked to fill out this form and return it to: Amy Pence / Tom Templeton, Consultant, Clearfield Area School District Superintendent Search, Pennsylvania School Boards Association, P.O. Box 2042, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055. Or e-mail to amy.pence@psba.org or tom.templeton@psba.org.

Please list your concerns in order of priority; i.e. most important concerns should be listed first.

-Challenges, Issues, Needs and Goals to be Met by the School District

-Qualifications and Experience Needed by a New Superintendent of Schools

-GENERAL COMMENTS: Please share any other suggestions and concerns that you may have regarding information that you think would be helpful to your board of school directors in choosing a superintendent of schools to provide leadership for the school district.
