CLEARFIELD – Effective Wednesday July 2, a 10 ton weight restriction will be in place as crews continue improvement work on state Route 655 in Belleville. A 6 mile detour remains in place from SR 655 and uses T-362 (Applehouse Road), T-437 (Mountain Road) and SR 4007, motorists are reminded to follow the detour that PennDOT has in place and avoid using any side streets or private lanes.
Walnut Street is restricted to NO PARKING on either side of the street. Mifflin County Regional Police will be monitoring the construction zone for violations and the 10 TON weight limit restriction (except local deliveries), will be enforced.
This project includes an extension of a box culvert, paving, shoulder upgrades, pavement markings and sidewalk installation. The weight restriction and detour will remain in effect and PennDOT will issue updates throughout the project. All work on the job is weather dependent.
George S. Hann & Son, Inc. of Fort Littleton, PA is the contractor on this $928,000 project that will last through early September. PennDOT reminds drivers to travel through all work zones with caution. Fines are doubled in construction zones.
