Frenchville Juvenile Suffers Major Injuries in Accident

GOSHEN TOWNSHIP – A 17-year-old Frenchville male was transported to the Altoona Hospital for treatment of “major injuries” after a two-vehicle accident along state Route 879 on Sunday afternoon in Goshen Township, the Clearfield State Police reported.

According to the report, the male was traveling north on SR 879. He traveled into the southbound lane and then into the path of a vehicle operated by Anthony Bastardi, 33, of Frenchville. The Bastardi vehicle drove onto the southbound berm in an attempt to avoid impact. But the two vehicles struck each other along the berm.

Bastardi suffered minor injuries. Both were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.

Police were assisted at the scene by PennDOT, Clearfield County Emergency Management, Lawrence Township, Goshen and Bigler-Jackson-Woodland Fire Companies and Clearfield Ambulance.
