PHILIPSBURG – Two men were arrested after fleeing from police early Wednesday morning.
According to the state police in Philipsburg, Douglas Feaster Jr. of Osceola Mills and Christopher Ulrich of Burnham are facing charges of theft by unlawful taking, criminal trespass and flight to avoid apprehension.
According to the report both men, employees of Nittany Oil, arrived at Nittany Oil along North Front Street in their company vehicle. They parked the truck in a secluded area adjacent to the fenced yard of Lee Industries.
Police allege that the men removed 338 pounds of stainless steel scrap from bins in the Lee Industries yard. The men allegedly loaded 98 pounds of the metal into the bed of the company vehicle and left the remaining 240 pounds in a location between the scrap yard and the truck.
A Lee Industries employee witnessed the two men as they were near the scrap bins. The employee notified his supervisor and other employees. They went to the location and waited for police to arrive. The report states that Ulrich and Feaster left the scene and hid in nearby areas while waiting for the employees to leave.
Police stated that when they arrived the two men fled the scene and were chased by troopers. They were later apprehended.
Both men were arraigned at Centre County Courthouse. They are currently being held in Centre County Jail.
