July 22nd, 2008 CCAAA, Colonial Courtyard Planning Summer Celebration
CLEARFIELD - The Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging, Inc., its Centers for Active Living, and co-sponsor Colonial Courtyard of Clearfield, are preparing for their annual Summer Celebration. The event will take place on August 21 from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Lawrence Hall, 321 Mill Road, Clearfield.
Individuals 50 years of age and older should especially enjoy this event.
This year’s theme will be a “Hawaiian Luau”. Music will be provided by D&J Rocks, and professional dancer, Kay Thompson Walker, will perform the hula, a Hawaiian form of communication using dance. There will also be games, plenty of door prizes, lots of fun, and kaukau (Hawaiian food).
The lu’au (feast), catered by Down River Catering, will feature a Hawaiian touch on a special menu of baked chicken, pulled pork, red skin parsley potatoes, candied carrots, fresh fruits, crackers, cheese, dessert, and beverages.
Grab that Hawaiian shirt or tropical mu’u mu’u (dress) and plan on a summertime fun day. Prizes will be awarded for the best-dressed wahine (woman) and kane (man).
Admission tickets are $6 per person and may be obtained by picking them up at the Clearfield, Coalport, Karthaus, Kylertown, and Mahaffey Centers for Active Living, Colonial Courtyard of Clearfield or at the CCAAA office at 103 North Front Street in Clearfield. Tickets must be purchased before noon on August 8.
