August 7th, 2008 Central Mountain Region Antique and Custom Auto Show Nearing
CLEARFIELD - It's time again for the Central Mountains Region Antique and Custom Auto Show, which is scheduled for Sunday, August 17, rain or shine at the Clearfield Driving Park.
Antique, classic and custom cars, trucks and motorcycles will be displayed in the grove, with the judging to be done by the participants. Show vehicles will be parked according to classes. Hosting club members' cars will not be judged and are ineligible to win trophies.
Th registration fee to show a vehicle is $5. Admission and parking are free to the public. D & J Rocks will provid the entertainment, and a variety of food concessions are expected.
This year's raffle features a $150 Sheetz gas card, a $100 Sheetz gas card, a Singer Sewing Machine and an Emerson 1000-watt Microwave Oven. Door prize and 50-50 tickets also will be available for purchase.
For each of the sixteen classes, three trophies are to be awarded. Show vehicle classes and trophy sponsors are as follows: Class A, production cars and trucks up to 1931, Dotts Motor Co. Inc.; Class B, production cars 1932-42, Larry's Saw Shop; Class C, production cars 1943-54, Strattan Automotive; Class D, production cars 1955-59, Moyer's Auto Body; Class E, production cars 1960-67, CARS Paint & Body; Class F, production cars 1968-74, Country Auto Sales; Class G, production cars 1975-83, ProFormance Fuel Injection; Class H, production cars 1984-93, Hunter's Garage; Class I, production commercial to 1993, C Classic Dodge Chrysler; Class J, two-seater sports cars to 1993, Rob Bozovich State Farm Insurance; Class K, street rod through 1948, Bob Boob Garage; Class L, modified cars 1949-69, H.R. Woolridge Co./Dimeling & Schrot Insurance; Class M, modified cars 1970-93, Bud's Electric Service Inc.; Class N, all modified trucks/vans to 1993, Ogden Legacy Inc. Insurance; Class O, American brand motorcycles, all years to present, Dinger's Grand Slam Grill and Groggery and Class P, foreign brand motorcycles, all years to present, Catalano Cycle Center Inc.
In addition to the class trophies, the following trophies with their sponsors are as follows: People's Choice, Siegal Engraving Co.; President's Trophy, Starr Hill Vineyard and Winery and the Mayor's Trophy, Clearfield Mayor Patti Gilliland. The Ross Family will provide the A.J. Ross Sr. Memorial Post-War Vehicle Award and a trophy will be presented for the Oldest Vehicle.
The owner of each registered vehicle will receive a commemorative dash plaque and a goodie bag, while supplies last.
Registration will be open from 9:00 a.m. until noon. Each vehicle must contain a functional fire extinguisher. Trophies will be awarded beginning at 3:00 p.m.
