REYNOLDSVILLE – State police in DuBois reported that a Reynoldsville woman was stabbed during an attempted abduction on Monday morning.
According to police the incident occurred between 12:30 a.m. and 1 a.m. The 20-year-old woman was walking along Willow Drive in Reynoldsville Borough when a vehicle passed her. Police reported that a man exited the vehicle and grabbed the woman around her neck and attempted to force her into the vehicle.
During the struggle the man stabbed the woman in the abdomen. She fled the scene to a nearby residence and contacted police. She was then transported to DuBois Regional Medical Center emergency room for treatment.
Police had a de scri ption of the suspect and about two hours later a man driving a vehicle similar to the one described to police was stopped by troopers.
The man in the vehicle was found to be intoxicated and on county probation. He was questioned and then transported to Jefferson County Jail on the probation violation.
A search warrant was issued on the man’s vehicle and several items of evidence were seized. Police stated that the investigation is ongoing. They did not reveal the suspects name in the report.
