CLEARFIELD - The second annual Family Day event hosted by the Clearfield County Health and Human Service Council will be held on Sept. 20 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Expo II building at the Clearfield Driving Park. Family Day is an event that provides free activities for family members of all ages.

“We had a great turnout last year, and everyone said that it was a lot of fun,” Sue Swales-Vitullo of Clearfield Colonial Courtyard and President of Health and CCHHSC said. “We hope to do the same this year.”

Many area organizations and agencies will be there to offer free information, games, and crafts and activities. Smokey the Bear and characters from Cen Clear Child Services will return along with free fire truck rides courtesy of Lawrence Township Fire Company. DJ Rocks will be playing music all day. Performances will be given by Starlets dancers and Dreamcatchers baton twirlers. Bennett and Houser Funeral Home will present a program to prevent child abduction called Escape School.

Door prizes will be given out throughout the day. Some prizes include gift certificates to Red Lobster, Sheetz gift cards, and a prize from DuBois Harley Davidson. Organizations that will be on hand include Colonial Courtyard, Penn State Cooperative Extension, Meadows Psychiatric Center, Children’s Aid Society, Cen Clear Child Services, Mid State Literacy, Clearfield County Drug and Alcohol Commission, Knickerbocker Villa, Shakin For Wellness, JEVS Supports, Hyde Wesleyan Church, and Passages, Inc.
