Irvona Man Accused of Showing up to Stalking Hearing Under the Influence Waives Hearings

CLEARFIELD – An Irvona man accused of stalking and driving to his originally scheduled court date has his day in court on Wednesday.

Scott Jones is accused stalking, harassment and disorderly conduct as well as DUI related charges.

According to court records police spoke with the alleged victim on July 29. She related that Jones had been calling her numerous times at all hour of the day on her cell phone and on her parent’s phone.

Police received a print-out of Jones’ outgoing phone calls. He placed 78 calls to the woman and her parents’ residence between 1 a.m. and 9:02 p.m. on July 4. Police also noticed that Jones placed 193 calls to either the woman or her parents between July 2 and July 26. Police also witnessed a text message Jones sent that read, “… I won’t go down alone.”

The scheduled court date for that case was on Sept. 16. When Jones arrived for the court date he allegedly drove to the Clearfield County Jail under the influence. Jones was taken into custody. When brought before Magisterial District Judge James Hawkins Jones indicated that he refused testing associated with DUI. His case was then continued for two weeks.

Jones waived his rights to preliminary hearings in both cases on Wednesday.
