Progress Being Made Between City of DuBois, Workers

DUBOIS - DuBois City Council member John Micks announced at Monday night's meeting of DuBois City Council that progress in labor relations has been made between the city and its workers.

The workers had been without a contract since 2005.

This announcement comes a few weeks after council announced that it would attempt to work with the labor union personally rather than through an attorney. That announcement came after a few meetings of scrutiny by the public for the length of time the workers had gone without a contract and the use of an outside attorney by the city. The city had been utilizing an attorney from the Pittsburgh area for labor relations.

"I feel we are coming to an end," said Micks. "I think we'll be able to settle this soon."
