GantDaily Athlete of the WeekStarting the week of Aug. 28, GantDaily will add a new feature, the GantDaily Athlete of the Week.
To be eligible for the athlete of the week, the athlete or coach must fulfill one of three criteria:
1. Represent a Clearfield County High School.
2. Graduated from a Clearfield County High School and are now competing or coaching in college or professionally.
3. Currently live in Clearfield County while competing in a sanctioned event.
In other words, if you're from Clearfield County and you recently won the Tiddlywinks world championships in Japan, we want to know about it.
For that reason, we will be accepting nominations for athlete of the week by e-mail to sports@gantdaily.com, or through the Gant Virtual Newsroom under sports submission. Please include the nominee's name and the reason you feel they should be named Athlete of the Week. Deadline for submissions is each Sunday at noon.
Each athlete of the week will receive story recognition on the GantDaily local sports section and will be announced by sports staff each Monday morning.
