Athlete of the Week -- 4/30 - 5/6

The Gant Daily athlete of the week for April 30 through May 6 is Clearfield softball player Ashley Lias.

Lias had three multi-hit games as the Bisons went 2-2 for the week. Lias' big game for the week came against Brockway, a team her grandfather used to coach, and mother and aunt used to play for. Lias had 2 clutch 2-out hits and drove in 5 runs on the day.

Honorable mention once again goes to Curwensville softball ace Holly Lansberry. Lansberry tossed 2 shutouts with 12 strikeouts in each game. Her one loss for the week was a tough 2-0 defeat to defending state runner-up Punxsutawney.
